Welcome to my web site. Let me Introduce myself as an author of books for young people. I was born and raised in Illinois, climbing trees putting up hay, and horseback riding for miles around my home. This life- style, continued into adulthood, has fueled my interest in writing outdoor oriented adventure fiction.

I am a graduate of Western Illinois University and a former teacher of English at two universities, two colleges and two high schools, a career spanning thirty years. I enjoy giving book talks at schools as well as mountain hiking and biking.

An active member of SCBWI and a Ft. Collins writers' group, Penpointers, I am working on two more adventure novels. One of my nature essays regarding wilderness stewardship appeared in Fenceposts, November 29, 1999.
